Thrill seekers have the opportunity to go sand boarding down the dunes or dive into the deep sea and come face to face with a Great White shark near Hermanus, Cape Town. South Africa is home to the world’s highest abseil and bungee jump which is located at the magnificent Garden Route and, together with world class rock climbing and white-water rafting; there is plenty to satisfy even the bravest of the brave.

Shark Cage Diving at Shark Alley between Dyer Island and Geyser Rock, Gansbaai
Close to the southernmost tip of the African continent, 5 miles / 8 kilometres out to sea, lies Shark Alley this is a popular hunting ground of the amazing Great White shark. Shark Alley is a channel between Dyer Island and Geyser Rock in Gansbaai which is protected from the worst of the southern Atlantic’s weather. Cage diving with sharks allows the adventurer to see eye in eye with these these magnificent beasts. To participate in shark cage diving, no scuba diving qualifications, experience or equipment is required.

Skydiving near Cape Town

On the way up in the aircraft, the view is breathtaking. To the South, Cape Town lies sandwiched between Table Mountain and the bustling Table Bay harbour. Further to the south, and to the far side of the mountain, lies False Bay, Hout Bay and the splendour of the South Peninsula as far as Cape Point. Adrenaline Junkies have the chance to experience an amazing Tandem Skydive.
On a tandem jump, you are strapped to a Tandem Instructor with a special harness which is attached to a specially designed parachute large enough to support two people.

After only 15 minutes of ground briefing you will enjoy a spectacular 20 minute aircraft ride, experiencing the finest views of the West Coast, Cape Town, Robben Island and Table Mountain.

Then it’s action time! Out the door for a 120mph/200kph free-fall, falling about 25-30 seconds from 9,000ft or for about 35-40 seconds from 11,000ft. The Tandem Instructor opens the parachute at about 5000ft, and a peaceful 3-4 minute parachute ride to the ground follows.

Nyugwe Forest National Park – A visit to Rwanda is incomplete without visiting the Mountain Gorillas in the Virungas among other primates that are treasured and are found in the Nyungwe Forest National park that is staggeringly beautiful.

There is usually a naming ceremony for the gorillas. The forest also houses monkeys as well as various bird species and is ideal for nature walks and camping.
