See Majestic Mt Kilimanjaro

If you are looking for a destination in Tanzania that will allow you to truly break in your outdoor hiking gear, consider a trip to Mt. Kilimanjaro. This is popular with African travelers because it is the continent’s highest mountain. You must have a guide to hike to the top, and pack warm clothes because the summit is cold. It takes approximately three days to get to the top of the mountain, so this will likely be a week-long adventure.

Of course, a visit to Tanzania would not be complete without visiting the famous Serengeti National Park. This park is home to the largest wildlife event on earth, namely the great annual zebra and wildebeest migration, where these creatures make their way across the plains of the Serengeti down to the Okavango Delta region. This park offers some of the best safari tours in all of Africa.

Rich in history and culture, Tanzania boasts the ancient hominid site of Oldupai Gorge and Archaeological Museum. This is a conservation area where the largest extent of human fossils has been discovered reaching back 3.5 million years.

Great place to visit while in Tanzania : • Selous Game Reserve

The Kilimanjaro National Park charges an entry fee for both children and adults. This goes towards the management of the park. On average children aged between 5 and 15 years pay $ 10 while adults are charges $ 10 per day and is payable in US dollar.

There is also a $ 50 fee per person for every night as well as a rescue fee of $ 20 if you are trekking on the mountain. Regardless of the route you take, you also need to pay a camping fee of $ 50 per night.
