Fun Things to do for the Fourth of Julyadmin
Happy 4th July | Independence Day
July Fourth is Independence Day in the United States of America. It’s the day we rally around the grill to celebrate. Perhaps this year we can stretch our plans just a little bit more and create some new traditions.
Here’s a list of fun things to make, do, and try:
Soda Fireworks – The coke and mentos experiment is not new but odds are you probably haven’t tried it for yourself! This year make some safe explosion fun and enjoy getting a little messy. If you’re really organized you can put together a choreographed soda firework show!
Healthy Flag Cake – Bring an easy, healthy dessert that looks great on the food table! Stack strawberry, banana, strawberry, banana, and then a row of blueberries on a kabob and organize them on the plate to create a flag. Of course, only the first five or so people through the line will get kabobs with blueberries but it’s all in the name of beauty!
American History Games – Set up a relay race or fun point system to go along with an American history challenge. Perhaps you’ll want to set it up like a well-known game show in the style of Jeopardy.
Everyone will laugh at the answers that are way too far off to be true and ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’ over those who actually paid attention in grade school!
Slime Fight – Forget the typical water balloon match! This year amp up the fun with a messy, event that will be super fun! Make the slime in buckets with cheap cake mix, warm water, and food coloring.
You can split into three teams of red, white, and blue, and enjoy the chaos that will ensue.
Stick to the Basics – Just because you add in fun new games doesn’t mean that you have to ignore the old traditions. You know what works and what doesn’t!
Enjoy barbecue, drinks, and a flashy firework show!
Happy 4th of July !!
